When this tree flowers, it comes ALIVE with the buzzing of bees! Walking under it is a concert of musical humming. A smallish deciduous tree with an umbrella shape typically 20-25’ high and wide. Small flowers appear July-August and are white in flattened 4-6” fragrant corymbs which ripen to attractive red capsules that are more showy than the flowers. Pinnately compound foliage is attractive and graceful. Full sun, average soils, moderate water. One of our Top 10 pollinator plants!
