Salvia koyamae

Unusual woodland sage from Japan that forms a perennial clump of bold leaves two feet tall and a bit wider; spikes of soft yellow blooms August to October. Light shade, prefers rich, moderately moist soils with decent drainage; may creep a bit with age where happy but never a pest. Attracts butterflies; deer resistant, low maintenance.
