Magnolia macrophylla

(Big Leaf Magnolia) This southeast US Native shows off with HUGE leaves to 30” long and giant white fragrant flowers in May pushing 10” wide with purple petal bases…this big mama enjoys moist, organic, well drained loamy soil in sun to part shade. Ultimately 30-40’ tall and wide, a nice lawn tree; intolerant of soil extremes (dry or waterlogged during growing season). Red fall fruit is stunning. The foliage alone makes this worth growing – a gorgeous specimen tree for the garden!
