Jeffersonia diphylla

(Twinleaf) Seldom offered eastern US woodland wildflower with distinctive double-lobed leaves (resembling a pair of kidneys) crowned in April with cup shaped, seven petaled white flowers with prominent yellow stamens. Forms deciduous clumps 8” tall and 18” wide in well-drained, humus rich, moist soil in part shade to shade (best under deciduous trees). Can be massed for ground cover.
