Iochroma cyaneum

Tender evergreen shrub can grow 4-8’ in frost free locations. For most of us it is a superb seasonal container specimen that drips with oodles of 4" long GLOWING lavender-blue tubular flowers in fat clusters from late spring to first freeze. Blooms on new growth so prune away! Lovely as an espalier. Full sun on coast and in the north, protect from hot PM sun elsewhere. Easily overwinters in our cold greenhouse kept just above freezing.
