G. nematanthodes x G. purpurascens made by John Boggan; emerges late June to early July with dark red brown stems cloaked in pretty red-green fuzzy foliage. Tubular, scarlet flowers from mid-summer to frost on vigorous plants 12-16” tall and eventually 30” wide. Needs WINTER DRY, so site under an eave, against a dry wall or in a tree rooty spot. Well-drained soil with regular moisture during the growing season; morning sun to bright shade. Also performs in pots with winter protection.
