Eryngium planum 'Blue Glitter'
Eryngium planum 'Blue Glitter'
(aka 'Blaukappe') Drought? Baking hot spot? Deer? No problem! ‘Blue Glitter’ throws out more flowers sooner than older varieties on well branched plants. Tough and well-armed, the careful gardener adores these eye-catching steel blue thistle flowers for arrangements (fresh or dried). Plants stand tall at 2-3’ in clumps half as wide; they bask in full sun and are best in sandy, well drained, dry soils (they also tolerate semi-regular watering). Bloom time starts in June and goes through September.
