Cyrtomium macrophyllum

(Large Leafed Holly Fern) Pale green, matte fronds with holly like pinnae (leaves) on upright stems 1-2’ tall contrast nicely with golden or yellow variegated hostas and purple leafed Heucheras.  Plants are evergreen and easy to grow in the woodland or shade container. Cyrtomiums prefer damp sitings so summer water is needed.  Typical foresty soil that drains and a shaded glen will make this fern happy.
