Astilbe x crispa

Compact rosettes to 12” wide of foliage with a rumpled texture topped by 8” lilac spikes in late summer that dry on the plant nicely and provide winter interest.  Part sun to bright shade in consistently moist to wet humus rich soils;  long lived, adaptable, deer and rabbit resistant.
