Aster nova-angliae 'Purple Dome'

(AKA Symphyotrichum novae-angliae Purple Dome) Very compact and heavy blooming variety, this aster usually tops out at 18-20” tall and domes out to 24-30”; in late summer and early fall, this cushion of foliage bursts with rich purple flowers that cover the plant! Very easy, most any soil, takes dryish to wet conditions (but doesn’t like winter sog), attracts butterflies, small vase cut flowers. A sun worshiper.
