Acanthus spinosus

A better ‘Bear’s Breech’ with more divided and elegant leaves…a more complex look and heightened texture! This species has the same ‘Egyptian motif’ flower stem… Acanthus grows almost anywhere, even in DEEP SHADE with TREE ROOTS. Drought tolerant but goes dormant by mid-summer without water – Plant it where you want it to stay cause it’s not leaving! Leaves about 2’ high – flower stalks 3-4’.
