This show off shrub has the largest flowers of any Abelia; lavender-pink pendulous flared trumpets (hummers!) appear in spring and often repeat in fall on tight, glossy leaved shrubs 2-3’ tall and 3-4’ wide. New growth takes on showy red hues. Evergreen in warmer zones, deciduous elsewhere. Sun, most soils, regular to little water. This is a cross between Abelia schumanii and A. zanderi and has the best features of both! Also swell in containers.
