Chitalpa x tashkentensis

(AKA x Chitalpa tashkentensis)  AMAZING cross between a Catalpa and a Chilopsis. (WHO thinks up these wacky ideas?!) The result is a really tough & beautiful round headed deciduous tree to about 20'. Soft medium green leaves provide a moderate shade on this low branching specimen tree – Large pink flowers reminiscent of rhododendrons put on a great show all summer! A great small tree that deserves great fame!! Our deer have not bothered this…but then…there are so many choices here for dinner!
