Persicaria bistorta ‘Superba’

Rugged little perennial with rigid, upright stems, 15” tall, topped by pretty spikes of small pink florets May to June, frequently repeating again in fall.  Holds its own with rooty shrubs; interplant with iris, geranium, upright campanulas.  Sun to part shade, best with some water but also takes boggy sites.  Deer resistant. May spread some in moist sites but easy to manage.
