Juniperus communis ‘Depressus Aureus‘

I really don’t love junipers, but this baby is an exception.  After 20 years, my garden plant is about 20” tall and has spread to almost 5’ wide.  It has a soft look and the feathery new foliage is gold, mature needles are limey with some silver highlighting; color winter bronze in cool temperatures.  Deer hate it as do other plant eating critters.  It requires nothing of me, it smothers weeds and laughs at drought.  It prefers a sunny spot for best color but takes some shade, sacrificing some of that brightness.  Most soils with drainage; dislikes heat, humidity.
