Iris unguicularis 'Eye Eye'

This cultivar is a bit smaller than the species and features lavender to purple flowers with a high contrast eye zone with white & purple striping and a bright yellow throat.. Blooms any time, October to March.  Grassy foliage in clumps 9-12” high and wide, is semi-evergreen. If flowers are cut and brought indoors, one flower will infuse an entire room with its honey-lemon-vanilla scent!  Enjoys a hot and dry location and thrives in most soils that are not too wet.  Seems to thrive on neglect!
