Hydrangea serrata ‘Chiri-San Sue’

Dan Hinkley collection from Korea, deciduous shrub, compact growth 3-4’ high and wide; highly textural foliage is heavily veined, leaves often display a burgundy hue. Lots of summer flowers… clusters of blue or pink (dependent on your soil pH) flowers circled by a ring of ray florets.  Slow to moderate growth rate in bright shade, consistently moist, good garden soils.  Subtle elegance.
