Drimiopsis maculata

Rare bulbous perennial from South Africa; clumps of wide, fleshy, pointed leaves with purple spots reputedly attract dragons!  Clumps are 8” tall spreading to 12” wide; short spikes of creamy-white bells April>May, winter dormant.  Enjoys well drained soil, a few hours of sun to light shade.  Water when dry. Also happy in rock gardens and pots.
