Dichromena colorata

(aka Rhynchospora colorata – ‘White-top Star Sedge’) Spreading patches 3’ wide in a few years of 15” stems topped with white flowers from sedge-like foliage spring; prefers a boggy setting but will grow in all but the driest soils in a sunny spot. Native to the east coast from Virginia to Florida.
