Bartlettina sordida

From the cloud forests of Mexico, this perennial shows off with upright purple stems 5’-6’ tall (2’-3’wide) outfitted in large purple fuzzy leaves to 10” big!  Splendid backlit.  Clusters of sweet lavender firework flowers late summer are butterfly diners. Part shade in hot areas, sun on coast, moist well drained rich soil.  Beautiful specimen in a large pot!
