(Jack in the Pulpit) A good beginner’s Ariseama, is a perennial that sends up 3-4’ stems in late spring/early summer, each topped by a round umbrella leaf composed of twelve smaller leaflets with silver centers…hooded spathe flowers of purple and white follow. At home in the woodland, especially nice in a group. Rich, moist, well-drained soil, light shade. Red orange seed pods follow flowers. Shipped as a bareroot tuber during dormancy and as a potted plant during active growth period.
