(aka Freesia laxa ‘Joan Evans’)  Love these little 6-8” tall patches of narrow pointy leaves that grow in winter, topped with six-petaled white fairy flowers, with scarlet red blotches in spring.  They slip into dormancy after bloom and need (prefer) no summer water making this South African perfect for a summer dry climate.  We plant ours with naturalizing species tulips since they enjoy the same hot, dry summer spots in well drained soils (sun to part shade).  They will seed around but never be pesky.  Happy in rock gardens and containers too.
