Aloe polyphylla

(Spiral Aloe) Talk about architectural!! With a bit of maturity, this low growing Aloe’s yellow-edged succulent leaves overlap and form the most perfect spiral! Stemless rosette to 1’ tall and twice as wide, slowly! Shy bloomer, a sometimes 2’ tall stem topped by a branched inflorescence with salmon pink flowers. Sun to light shade, cool spot, excellent drainage, water when dry.  Challenging but worth the effort.
