Salvia roemeriana

(Cedar Sage) Named for its aromatic, cedar scented foliage, this is not your typical sage!. A small plant from the big state of Texas, this herbaceous perennial is only 6-12” tall and 12-18” wide. Flowers are intermittent from late spring to fall, short spikes of intense bright red. Seems happiest in light shade with some moisture; well-drained soil is a must, happy in scree or containerized. Often politely reseeds.
Attracts hummers.
