Lobelia cardinalis ‘Queen Victoria’
Bolt upright stems cloaked in royal burgundy leaves are 2-3′ tall and topped August > October with bright, scarlet red flowers! Ready for a hummingbird convention? This perennial needs constantly moist soil and is quite happy in a bog or even submerged just below the surface of a pond. It’s a clumper and only about 15-18″ wide. Often referred to as ‘short lived’, we’ve had ours for 10+ years and dividing it once in awhile seems to give it a new life…it’s easy enough! Full sun for strong stems (no staking!).
