Iris japonica ‘Petite’
(JAPANESE IRIS) 10-12” glossy leaves in distinct fans with showy deep purple bases form rhizomatous, deer & rabbit resistant evergreen ground cover in shaded spots in the garden! Overall, a bit smaller and slower than species. Branched 18” stems of fringed pale blue flowers with falls marked of violet and golden in early spring that are fought over by our hummingbirds! Most soils, moist (not soggy); some drought when established. Takes sun on coast.
