Hydrangea macrophylla ‘Izu No Hana’
Flowers of the Izu peninsula This bloom is very unique in its pointed florets and double and triple petals shooting out every direction from the bloom head. Florets are too multiple to count (okay, got to 14 on one petal). It’s rare that this Japanese cultivar has dark green foliage but it really just adds to the appearance. Izu No Hana hasn’t been in the states for long so don’t miss out on this beauty. I’ve heard rumors that it may be hardier than zone 6, too. Try it in a container.
