Arisaema triphyllum

Exotic spring wildflower from our NE woodlands…an easy intro into this prized genus. Each ‘bulb’ produces two large, compound leaves with three leaflets and hooded spathe flower with green to purple striping (variable) April>May on stems 1-2’ high. Mature plants will produce red berries after flowering in late summer with leaves vanishing my late summer. Happiest in rich, organic, loose soil with plenty of moisture in part to full shade. Plants will offset and eventually reseed to form a cool little colony over time. Best left undisturbed.
